The Rugby Club Foundation and NSW Rugby wished to develop a website that is a central information resource for community rugby participants and stakeholders. Those stakeholders, whether they are players, coaches, committee members, parents/guardians involved in community rugby clubs or associations, often faced a difficult time trying to find the information they need to help them in their roles.
Initially, the brief was that The Rugby Club Foundation would establish and contribute to the building of the bank of resources on this site, with Governing bodies, sponsors, suppliers, supporters, government and non-government grant providers and philanthropic entities then to be encouraged to contribute to the site for future content development.
But what about club administrators?
Following extensive research on existing resources globally for grassroots sporting clubs (beyond just rugby), and consultation with the targeted users of the site, we created a solution that encourages current and former club administrators themselves to also contribute to the content, and to a conversation facilitated by the platform.
After all, around the country there are thousands of club administrators that have an incredible amount of expertise and experience, and much can be learned from sharing this practical experience.
During the development phase Rugby Australia joined the conversation, as they too are seeking to create a legacy of improved club administration as part of the Australia 2027 & 2029 Rugby World Cup.
