Classic Wallabies has three main objectives:
- to celebrate and support Australia’s former representative Rugby Union players, being all male & female representatives across XVs and Sevens
- to develop the future of the game through grassroots initiatives, and
- to grow its role as ambassadors of and influencers in the game of Rugby.
Since 2017 we’ve helped guide the evolution of its purpose and objectives, and delivering these objectives, to make Classic Wallabies a global benchmark of alumni organisations in the sport of rugby union.
We work closely with the ‘Classics’ General Manager, Board, contractors, sponsors, governing bodies and hundreds of wonderful former representative players around Australia and internationally in a variety of roles across marketing, events, sales and sponsorship.
This has seen the Classics grow its following and reach across digital channels year on year, and deliver some incredible activities and events that typically support grassroots rugby clubs and schools in regional and remote areas around Australia. From Toowwomba, to Orange, Rockhampton, Coonamble, Darwin, Wagga Wagga, Batemans Bay, Geraldton and so many other towns and cities in every state and territory of Australia. Plus further afield with initiatives in the Pacific Islands, Hong Kong and the incredible spectacle of the 2019 Rugby World Cup when the Classic Wallabies took on Classic Japan in Tokyo.
